Chamberlain, Mary (1 MAY 1822 - 4 DEC 1882)

Died at her residence in the town of Grant, Clark County, Wis., Dec. 4, 1882, of cancer, after an illness of eighteen months, Mary, wife of H.G. Chamberlain, aged 60 years, 7 months and 4 days.

The deceased was born in Danville, Ky., May 1st, 1822, and was married to James Conlan in 1838, and with him became a resident of the county in 1848. Having been widowed she was married to H.G. Chamberlain, who still survives her, in 1864. She was the mother of eleven children, but four of whom, Thomas J. Conlan, Michael Conlan, Margaret Softus and James Conlan, are now living. She was a member of the catholic Church, from the age of twenty years, and continued in that faith during the remainder of her life. She was a most exemplary woman, and leaves many friends to mourn her death. The funeral took place from her late residence, Wednesday, Dec. 6, and was conducted by Rev. Father Voltz, of Fairchild.
